Transparent job-fit analysis
How RoleVerity calculates your job-fit score
RoleVerity compares three sources: your saved resume, your Career Profile preferences, and the employer's job posting. It produces a qualification score, a preference score, an overall score, and a recommendation you can inspect before deciding whether to apply.

Direct answer
Overall fit is 80% qualifications and 20% preferences
80%
Qualification fit
How well verified resume evidence supports the role's work and qualifications.
20%
Preference fit
How well the job matches the requirements and boundaries saved in your Career Profile.
(qualification × .80) + (preference × .20)
Overall fit
A summary number. The evidence, uncertainty, and preference checks explain what the number means.
What goes into qualification fit
The AI evidence review compares the meaning of the posting with your resume. Required qualifications carry more weight than preferred qualifications. The six dimensions below form the qualification score.
Core capabilities
25%Skills and capabilities the employer says are important, matched to evidence in your resume.
Role alignment
20%How closely your demonstrated work aligns with the role's actual responsibilities.
Delivery evidence
20%Proof that you have completed comparable work or delivered relevant outcomes.
Experience level
15%Evidence that your scope, ownership, and experience support the requested level.
Domain experience
10%Relevant industry, customer, subject-area, or operating-environment experience.
Collaboration
10%Evidence of communication, teamwork, stakeholder partnership, and cross-functional work.
Evidence is classified, not merely counted
Proven
Your resume directly demonstrates relevant work, skills, or outcomes.
Transferable
Your experience is meaningfully related, even if the title or setting differs.
Developing or uncertain
The resume has limited evidence, or the posting does not provide enough detail.
Preference fit checks whether the job works for you
These checks are separate from your ability to perform the work. Each one can Pass, require Review, or Fail. When a posting is unclear, RoleVerity should surface uncertainty instead of guessing.

How the recommendation is assigned
Why an 85 can still say Review
Score and recommendation answer different questions. The score summarizes fit; the recommendation also considers unresolved information. Any Review check or low-confidence analysis blocks a Strong or Priority recommendation. Any failed preference check produces Skip, even when qualification evidence is strong.
Accuracy guardrails
- RoleVerity is instructed not to invent skills, experience, or credentials.
- Important gaps must be supported by relevant job-posting and resume evidence.
- Missing information is treated as uncertainty, not automatically as a deficiency.
- If the AI review cannot be safely verified, RoleVerity falls back to a limited, low-confidence comparison.
The analysis is decision support, not a hiring prediction. Employers use their own criteria, and users should review the evidence before applying.
Frequently asked questions
Does RoleVerity score a job using keywords alone?
No. RoleVerity uses AI to compare the meaning of the job requirements with evidence in your resume, then separately checks the opportunity against your saved Career Profile preferences.
Why can a high score still receive a Review recommendation?
A Review flag means an important preference or detail is uncertain. For example, a strong overall fit can still require review when the posting does not clearly state its employment type or salary.
Can RoleVerity invent experience that is not in my resume?
It is instructed not to. Claims should be tied to resume evidence. Missing information is treated as uncertainty, and a safe fallback is used if the AI review cannot be verified.
What information makes a job-fit analysis more accurate?
Use a current resume, complete Career Profile preferences, the exact job title, and the full job description including responsibilities and required and preferred qualifications.
Ready to compare a real opportunity?
Start with a current resume and complete Career Profile, then paste the full job posting so the analysis has enough evidence to explain its result.
