Privacy Policy

Effective and last updated August 24, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how RoleVerity collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information when you use our website and career-intelligence service. It also describes the choices and controls available to you.

Information we collect

Account and contact information. We collect your display name, email address, authentication metadata, and communications you send to support. Authentication credentials and sessions are managed by Supabase. RoleVerity does not store your password in readable form.

Career-workspace information. We collect information you choose to add, including résumés and extracted résumé text, career profiles, desired roles, locations, salary preferences, qualifications, saved searches, job records, fit analyses, generated résumés, ATS scans, application status, activities, and notes.

Billing and usage information. We store your plan, subscription status and dates, feature usage, and the Stripe identifiers needed to connect your account to billing. Stripe collects and processes payment details. RoleVerity does not store your full card number or card security code.

Technical, security, and operational information. Our hosting, authentication, payment, and security providers may process IP address, browser or device information, timestamps, request metadata, cookies, and security signals. RoleVerity also keeps restricted operational records needed to prevent abuse, control vendor spending, deliver alerts, and investigate service failures.

Job-source information. We retrieve job listings and related metadata from third-party job providers and employer career sites. When you save, review, or add notes to a listing, those actions become part of your private workspace.

How we collect and use information

We collect information when you:

  • create and secure an account;
  • upload a résumé or build a career profile;
  • search for, save, analyze, or track job opportunities;
  • generate a résumé or run an ATS scan;
  • subscribe, manage billing, or contact support; and
  • use the service, which generates essential security and operational records.

We use the information to:

  • provide, personalize, and maintain RoleVerity;
  • discover jobs and calculate transparent fit information;
  • perform the AI-assisted features you request;
  • manage subscriptions, entitlements, and usage limits;
  • authenticate users, prevent abuse, and protect the service;
  • respond to support requests and send service messages; and
  • comply with law and enforce our policies.

AI-assisted features

When you ask RoleVerity to generate résumé content or run an ATS analysis, the service sends the relevant résumé text, instructions, and, for targeted analysis, the job description to OpenAI for processing. The resulting content and analysis may be stored in your private workspace so you can review and edit it.

RoleVerity does not automatically apply for jobs or make hiring decisions. AI-generated content and scores may be incomplete or inaccurate. You should review them and remain responsible for every application and career decision.

When we disclose information

We disclose personal information only as reasonably necessary to operate the service, fulfill your requests, protect RoleVerity and its users, or comply with law. Service providers include:

  • Supabase for authentication, database services, and private file storage;
  • Vercel for application hosting, delivery, and operational logs;
  • OpenAI for the AI-assisted features you request;
  • Stripe for Checkout, recurring billing, and the billing portal;
  • Brevo for authentication and operational email; and
  • Cloudflare for Turnstile bot and abuse protection.

We also request public or licensed job data from job providers and employer career sites. Those providers may receive search terms and ordinary request metadata. RoleVerity does not send your résumé to job providers and does not submit applications for you.

We may disclose information when required by valid legal process, to investigate fraud or security incidents, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets subject to appropriate confidentiality and notice.

No sale or targeted advertising

RoleVerity does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or serve targeted ads.

Cookies and browser signals

RoleVerity and its service providers use essential cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in, protect forms, preserve recoverable in-progress work, and maintain service security. A browser session draft may remain on your device for up to 24 hours unless it is cleared sooner after completion or sign-out.

Because there is no universally accepted Do Not Track standard, RoleVerity does not respond differently to browser Do Not Track signals. This does not change our practice of not selling personal information or using it for targeted advertising. Where an applicable law requires recognition of a browser privacy-control signal, we will honor that requirement.

Retention and deletion

We retain account and career-workspace information while your account is active and until you delete the information or your account, unless a longer period is required for security, dispute resolution, legal compliance, or another legitimate operational need.

  • Pending résumé uploads expire after two hours. Rejected or canceled files are removed promptly, and a protected cleanup retries failed or abandoned removals.
  • An active résumé and extracted text remain until replacement, explicit résumé deletion, or permanent account deletion.
  • Restricted abuse-control metadata is eligible for cleanup after seven days; privacy-safe alert records are eligible for cleanup after 90 days.
  • Detailed Vercel runtime logs are retained under the configured hosting plan, currently 30 days.
  • Vendor-spending audit records are retained for operational accounting and are disassociated from your account when the account is deleted.

Deletion from active systems may not immediately remove limited information from encrypted backups, provider systems, or records retained to satisfy legal, fraud-prevention, accounting, or security obligations. Those records remain restricted and are removed or anonymized according to the applicable retention cycle.

For the complete category-by-category schedule, deletion sequence, backup treatment, and exceptions, review the Data Retention and Deletion Policy.

Your choices and privacy rights

You can review and correct much of your information inside RoleVerity. In your Profile, you can download a private JSON export of your account data, delete your active résumé, or permanently delete your account. You can manage or cancel a subscription in the Stripe billing portal.

Depending on where you live and subject to legal exceptions, you may have rights to know or access personal information, correct it, delete it, obtain a portable copy, limit certain uses of sensitive information, or appeal a decision about a request. California residents may also have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising applicable privacy rights.

Use the in-product controls or email support@roleverity.com. We may need to verify that you control the account before completing a request. An authorized agent may submit a request where applicable, but we may require proof of authorization and verification of the consumer's identity.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including authenticated access, account-specific database policies, private résumé storage, restricted service credentials, billing webhook verification, and abuse controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

RoleVerity is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as RoleVerity changes. We will post the updated policy here, revise the effective date, and provide additional notice when required by law. Material changes apply prospectively unless otherwise permitted by law.
